Useless can be memorable
Practical gifts solve problems. Absurd gifts create stories. A numbered digital banana probably will not help assemble furniture, but it is easier to talk about than another pair of socks.
Carefully organised uselessness
Banana Vault makes no secret of the concept: this is a humorous digital collectible. The joke is giving it presentation and security wildly out of proportion to its practical purpose.
The gift is real
Behind the joke, the digital item is genuinely assigned and stored in the Vault. The absurdity is deliberate; the product description should remain clear.
